It was difficult: first I meant it to be one text, without divisions like
subtitles, headings etc. But I saw that it becamse very very confusing and
unstructured, so I was forced to put lines as: "General Career profile"
and later "particular programme" or something. They have to be underlined
or thick or another font or something. Perhaps it is stupid, but it is
even more stupid without them and more confusing. I couldn't figure out a
more clever way of writing. Please please read it very carefully and tell
me how it feels. We can still change many things. Tell me, firstly,
whether it feels natural, readable..whether there's any structure of any
kind whatsoever. :) It's not the final version, so please tell me what you
think should be changed OK?

I hope you can read it, if not, I will send it in another version.

Doei,
-bljanka

Firstly I would like to introduce myself: I am Kristina Sandulova, born in Sofia, Bulgaria. After having completed a general education at the music school in Sofia, I completed the State Academy of Sofia, and afterwards the North Netherlands Conservatory (Groningen, Netherlands), under guidance of Paul Komen. Currently I am finishing specialisation in the Royal Consercatory (The Hague) with a strong emphasis on contemporary music, with Geoffrey Madge. I the past I have performed a number of premiere works at various festivals for contemporary music (please see the included biography for details).

I would like to study in the Second Phase (Master degree) in the conservatory of Utrecht, specialised in contemporary music. This specialisation is not exclusive: I feel a strong connection with the romantic style and would wish to continue my development in that direction as well.

General Career Profile.

The focus of my carreer will be as a soloist performer. However, I would be interested in chamber music, especially if it concerns non-traditional ensembles: either involving non-traditional instruments (electronic, contemporary percussion, prepared piano etc.) or a non-traditional combination of traditional instruments. I am currently not a member of any ensemble but would be happy to work together with musicians of high professional expectations.

I possess a general education about music pedagogy as well as three years experience in teaching, however, if there are possibilities, I would like to learn more about new and alternative methods of teaching.

If possible, I would like to take lessons for contemporary improvisation. This may also involve alternative uses of the instrument (e.g.prepared piano, electronic effects etc.) and even modes of expression from other art-forms (e.g. theatre).

Details of my programme for the two-years education

In the spring 2005 I intend to participate at the International Gaudeamus Interpreters' Competition (Rotterdam). Presumably the preparation will take a lot of effort during the beginning of my first study-year.

Except for that, I would like to continue studying Etudes by G.Ligeti, hopefully later to be able to include several of them in my recitals.

In the second study-year I want to concentrate on giving concerts in romantic (e.g. a recital with exclusively Chopin or Rachmaninov) and contemporary (e.g. Ligeti, Dutch composers) style. If possible, I would like to perform a concerto with an orchestra.
